Inspiring Meeting Tuesday night

Martin Hanson, a teacher at Cleveland District State High School, told us about Nexus Learning Centre - a school within the school, which is enabling students who do not fit in to the 'normal' school curriculum to get an education and re-engage with learning and preparation for life after school. What an inspiring program this is - and we are very proud to be supporting it with our current raffle - the Community Raffle. Have you got your tickets yet? See details below on how  buy tickets

Finally our planned Guest Speaker, Shane Hackett from Redland City Council talked to us about the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower program. This program allows people who have a hidden disability - epilepsy, deafness, hip replacement, nervous condition etc., to wear a green lanyard or pin, allowing people who have received the training to recognise that they may need a little extra help. Michael is organising for our club to register, and those who wish to, to have the training. Another inspiring community program. Check it out here https:/hdsunflower.com.
