Youth Exchange - a perspective
Karina Horsbol - Karina (now 49) was a student with our club in 1994. She was hosted by the Marers, the Zuidam‘s the Benfer‘s and the Haughtey’s with Ian Crane her counsellor. She attended Alexandra Hills State high school during the period she was with us. I know Albert, Alison and family have kept in regular contact with Karina over the years and have visited on many occasions. Karina is married with two children and is a sales executive with a Hotel chain sourcing conference business for her lovely hotel which is about 45 km north of Copenhagen. We were delighted to spend a couple of days with her as well as staying at the hotel she works at.
We had a great time reminiscing with them both and going through some interesting experiences as well as remarking what a wonderful time they had in Australia and how in a way the exchange has impacted on their life and their careers.
It is worth reflecting on these programs as we look forward to welcoming another student to the club.
