Georgia Richards, Global Grant Scholar, Oxford University
Georgia's research interests include the management of pain, particularly the prescription of opioid analgesics, polypharmacy (the taking of multiple drugs for multiple conditions, often in untested combinations) and reducing unwarranted variation in commonly prescribed medications.
Georgia is currently completing a systematic review to understand what's driving the inappropriate prescribing of opioid analgesics in primary care.
Georgia is the grand-daughter of Doug Kirk, a past member of Cleveland Rotary, and it is through Doug and PP Ron Loney that this application has been submitted and accepted by The Rotary Foundation. It is indeed an honour for us to support such a talented young medical scientist.
