Rotary Meeting

My name is Aaron, & I am a 44 year old emergency & aeromedical retrieval RN from Brisbane.

My Father was a 25year RAAF airman & officer; and my Mother; a Registered Nurse & Midwife - so following in their footsteps career-wise must have been hardwired into my DNA.

I joined the Australian Army as an infantry rifleman at the age of 17. 

After 6+ years of service, I then commenced a career in healthcare by becoming a volunteer QAS officer on Nth Stradbroke Island - and then enrolling in uni as a student nurse.

In the 18 years since graduating, I have worked in a variety of clinical roles; but have developed a deep general affinity for the disciplines of emergency & critical care.

As a huge fan of aviation (and a frustrated pilot), I merged this passion into my career by completing postgraduate studies as an aeromedical retrieval RN in 2015.

All of these varied experiences appear in my assessment to have prepared me very aptly for my somewhat unexpected role in Ukraine in 2022 and onward!

My 6.5 months as an trauma educator in Ukraine is without par the most important & satisfying task I have ever undertaken - thus my wish to return at the soonest possible opportunity.
