Rotary Meeting - 'Young women's education, world records, and biscuits'

From: Tuesday June 4, 2019, 6:00 pm

To: Tuesday June 4, 2019, 8:00 pm

Join us for a night that focuses on the education of young women, world records and biscuits!

Caryn Thomas is hoping to set a world record by lining the Redlands with a 200-kilometre chain of bras.  Breast cancer is a significant issue for both women and men.  Caryn was impressed with the practical, real world advice and tools she saw passed on to students participating in the McGrath Foundation Curve Lurve program that she knew it was something she wanted to support.  So how better to symbolise support than create a chain of bras.

Bras can be dropped of at Community Kids Victoria Point Early Education Centre, 116 Benfer Rd, Victoria Point.

For more information about Caryn’s bra chain attempt, visit her blog page here.

Mimmi Hetorp is here tonight to tell us that it is biscuit season 2019. In 2019, Girl Guides Australia is taking their iconic biscuits to the next level by introducing Biscuits for Business to help the organisation empower even more Queensland girls and young women.

Visitors are always welcome in our Club - bring a business acquaintance or friend who may be interested in the work that Rotary does in our community.
