Cleveland Library Visit
From: Tuesday April 17, 2018, 5:30 pm
To: Tuesday April 17, 2018, 8:30 pm
Libraries have had to evolve to stay relevant and meet community needs and expectations. No longer are they just a repository of paper books, today they provide so much more in terms of services and the way they are delivered to the community.
Our library has to cater to the full spectrum of age groups, increasingly on digital platforms, and spread throughout the city, including the Bay Islands.
So come along and become fully aware of the facilities available to you.
The library normally closes at 5 pm. on Tuesdays but the Council has granted The Rotary Club of Cleveland exclusive access. Two of the management staff have kindly made themselves available after hours to do this presentation. Kim and Tracey will reopen the Library for us at 5.30 pm and commence a presentation about the work of the Library in the community at 6 pm, concluding at around 7 pm.
After that it is but a short stroll to the north along Middle Street to Doug and Pearl’s Restaurant arriving 7.15-7.30 pm.
Restaurant owner Tom Armstrong will serve a welcoming drink on arrival followed by a meal.
Drinks: Choice of Totara Sav Blanc, Rymill Shiraz, Corona Beer or soft drink on arrival. Cash bar available after.
Meal alternate drop: Cape Grim porterhouse tortellini, onion puree, oxtail jus or Roasted chicken, quince, cashew cream, chamomile jus.
Total cost is just $34.00 per person, which is reasonable given the restaurant quality meal and included drink.
If for some reason you can’t make the earlier than normal start time for the Library Visit then book and come along for the meal.
Early Booking is essential as we need to give the restaurant numbers by Friday 13th April 2018.
Bookings are now closed
